CELEBRATE THE TRADITIONS OF THE DAY OF THE DEAD AT XCARET

Walk through the arch made of cempasuchil flowers and absorb the aromas, colors and traditions of the Day of the Dead.

Every year, Xcaret gathers the rituals of the Pre-Hispanic world and the traditions of a guest state to commemorate a celebration declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

Enjoy food, offerings, altars, workshops, handicrafts, expositions, theater, dances, and gala concerts, in the unique scenery of Xcaret.

Visit Xcaret from October 30th to November 3rd and welcome the souls coming from beyond. Enjoy a broad activity program at the “Best Park in the World” when the spirits of our beloved ones return to visit their relatives and friends.

This festival brings together musical, gastronomic, folkloric and artistic expressions around this Mexican celebration. It is a mixture of tradition and interpretation very much in the style of this ecological park.

In each edition, a state/province of Mexico is invited as guest of honor, highlighting its culture, its own Day of the Dead celebration, its gastronomy and music.

The 17th edition of the Festival of Life and Death Traditions has the Mexican state of Querétaro as guest of honor. Artists and artisans from this region will be at Xcaret to let us be part of their customs. Read all about last year’s celebration here.

Xcaret’s program includes plays, dance, various concerts, All Saints Day mass, as well as various workshops, exhibitions, and the Interactive Hacienda: a space where children and adults learn and have fun with the traditions of the Day of the Dead.

The Day of the Dead festivities in Mexico are recognized as Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

Celebrate life and death in Xcaret, the Majestic Paradise of Mexico. Xcaret Arte & Xcaret Mexico are two of the “All-Fun Inclusive” resorts that are honestly my favorites in all of Mexico, and maybe just my outright favorite resorts. They’re sister resorts, with Xcaret Arte being adults-only, and Xcaret Mexico welcoming adults and adults with families. They’re stunningly beautiful, I’ve never seen resorts like these. You can read a bit about my stay in Xcaret Arte here.

Give me a shout, and let’s get you to one of these amazing resorts…going anytime is great, going during the Festival of the Dead would be incredible!
