If you’re aching to travel once we’re able to do so again, but are looking for somewhere closer to home, a great choice is to visit some of the many breathtaking national parks around the United States! One of the most well-known sights in the United States, the Grand Canyon stretches for 277 miles and is the incredible result of millions of years geological activity. Whether you hike the canyon rim or journey into the canyon itself, the Grand Canyon never fails to puts its visitors in awe.
One of the most memorable meals I ever had was one evening on the rim of the Grand Canyon. We bought sandwiches at a grocery store deli, and watched the sunset over the Grand Canyon. There was no one around, we were completely alone, just the canyon, the sounds of nature and the amazing sunset.
Bryce Canyon National Park
Rather than a single canyon, Bryce Canyon is made up of a series of natural “amphitheaters” carved into the edge of a high plateau. The most well-known of these is the incredible Bryce Amphitheater, which is filled with irregularly eroded spires of rocks called hoodoos. Take in this iconic view from Bryce Point:
