Last November, I had the chance to tour the Caribbean Princess, the first ship to become a Medallion Class ship, and it was amazing what the Ocean Medallion can do!  For all of us Walt Disney World fans, it’s similar to our MagicBands, but Princess has added a lot more features that you can use during your cruise!  So, it’s like a “Next-Gen” MagicBand.

As you can see, the Ocean Medallion will be personalized for your specific cruise, it will have your name, the name of the ship & the sail date of your cruise.  It’s a bit smaller than a quarter, and is easily carried in a lanyard, or you can purchase other items, such as bracelets, necklaces, etc. to hold your medallion.   Princess Cruises will ship your medallion directly to you before your cruise, and the price of the medallion is included with your cruise fare.  The accessories, however, will be an additional charge.

Also, the medallions will be color-coded to match your status with Princess Cruises’ Loyalty program–the Captain’s Circle.  For first time Princess Cruisers, you’ll get a blue Ocean Medallion.  I will be telling you all about the Captain’s Circle in a future blog post, but for now, the levels are:  Gold (after your first cruise), Ruby, Platinum & Elite.

As announced on January 22, 2019, Royal Princess® (April 2019), Crown Princess® (July 2019) and Sky Princess℠ (October 2019) will be the latest additions to the MedallionClass fleet, joining Caribbean Princess, the first MedallionClass ship and, starting in February 2019, Regal Princess®

  4. STATEROOM ACCESS – Guests can unlock their stateroom door with the OceanMedallion and see a personalized greeting displayed on the door portal.
  5. OCEAN COMPASS – Ocean Compass offers wayfinding around the ship, so guests can navigate to their next point of interest.  It also allows you to locate your friends and family on the ship.
  6. MEDALLION-PAY – Medallion Pay provides easy and hassle-free onboard payments allowing crew members to focus on guest service interactions.

MedallionClass Vacations will be available in the following destinations:

  • Caribbean: Princess offers the enhanced MedallionClass experience on all Caribbean voyages by the end 2019 and beyond with Caribbean, Regal, Crown, Royal and Sky Princess sailing the region.
  • Alaska: Royal Princess will be the first Princess MedallionClass ship to sail the Great Land, just in time for our 50th Anniversary season, May through September 2019.
  • Mediterranean: Our newest ship, Sky Princess, will debut in the Mediterranean in October through November 2019, before sailing Eastern and Western Caribbean voyages.
  • British Isles: Once activated, Crown Princess will offer MedallionClass in the region July through September 2019; with Regal Princess sailing the region in 2020 .
  • Scandinavia & Russia: Regal Princess will sail to the Baltic region as well as Northern Europe transatlantic passages from April to September 2019.
  • Panama Canal: From November 2019 through March 2020 , Caribbean Princess will alternate sailing 10-day Panama Canal and 14-day Circle Caribbean voyages roundtrip from Ft. Lauderdale.
  • Canada & New England: Caribbean Princess will sail here, July through October 2019, and Regal Princess will join her in September 2019.
  • Mexico & California Coast: Royal Princess will alternate between Mexico and California Coast from October 2019 to May 2020.

As my love of Disney grew, I began planning trips to Disney for my clients at my store, which grew into a new career! After a few years of both running my retail store and planning travel, I closed my brick & mortar store, moved to Vero Beach, Fl where I've been planning travel full-time now for over five years. Vero Beach has small-town charm with world-class luxury. It's an incredible place to live. I help take care of my parents here, and travel extensively with them. Together, we visit Disneyland and The Walt Disney World Resort often. I've planned tours in England, Scotland, Paris, Greece, Italy, Denmark, Ireland, & France including Disneyland Paris. Living in Vero Beach, where retirees seem to outnumber all other age groups, I've become an expert on helping people travel who are "young at heart". Living a short road trip away from the Orlando area, I visit the theme parks at Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando & Sea World often. Many times I'm there once a week! I've stayed at every Disney Resort in North America, toured every hotel at the Universal Resort, and have taken over 25 cruises, being a Platinum Castaway Cay member with Disney Cruise Line. I've cruised to the Caribbean, The Bahamas, Alaska, the Panama Canal, Trans-Atlantic (East & Westbound), Mediterranean & Northern Europe. Also, if you need restaurant recommendations, I've personally ate at most of the restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort & at the Disneyland Resort in Southern California. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is my favorite Walt Disney World Resort, and Disney's Grand Californian Resort & Spa is my favorite resort at Disneyland. I've attended various events at Walt Disney World such as: Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, Star Wars Weekends, Disneyana Conventions, EPCOT's Food & Wine Festival, The Flower & Garden Festival and the new Festival of Arts.
