MY FIFTIETH CRUISE

Since embarking on my very first cruise aboard the Disney Magic in July 2001, my love for cruising has only grown. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of sailing on a wide variety of unforgettable journeys—from three trans-Atlantic cruises and a couple of maiden voyages to exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Alaska and passing through the engineering marvel that is the Panama Canal. I’ve also enjoyed the rich history of the British Isles, the stunning beauty of the Greek islands, the awe-inspiring fjords of Norway, and countless adventures in the Bahamas, as well as the Eastern, Western, and Southern Caribbean. Each cruise has offered something unique, but as I approach my 50th cruise milestone, I knew it had to be truly exceptional. That’s why I’m excited to share my plans for this special journey—and invite you to join me on what promises to be the cruise of a lifetime.

Planning my 50th cruise has been a journey in itself, and I knew it needed to be something truly unforgettable. After experiencing my first river cruise with Avalon Waterways on the Rhine River—sailing through the magnificent Rhine Gorge—I was completely captivated. Despite having very high expectations, Avalon Waterways exceeded all of them. The intimate and immersive nature of river cruising won me over, and that’s why I’ve chosen Avalon’s Burgundy & Provence (with two nights in Paris) itinerary for this milestone cruise in July 2025. I couldn’t be more excited about it!

This extraordinary cruise begins with two nights in Paris, where you can immerse yourself in the magic of the City of Light before setting sail. The itinerary takes you from Paris to the charming town of Beaune, explores the wine regions of Chalon-sur-Saône and Tournus, and includes a stop in Lyon, renowned for its gourmet cuisine. As you continue through the Rhône Valley, you’ll visit the historic towns of Tournon and Avignon, before concluding in the picturesque village of Arles. It’s a journey filled with history, culture, and stunning landscapes, all enjoyed from the comfort of an intimate river cruise ship.

To make this 50th cruise even more special, I’m pairing it with a Globus tour that perfectly complements the river itinerary. The tour starts in Paris, where we’ll enjoy a unique dining experience on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower. We’ll then explore the beautiful gardens of Giverny, visit the historic beaches of Normandy, and marvel at the iconic Mont St. Michel. The journey continues with a tour of the Loire Valley, home to some of France’s most stunning chateaux, before returning to Paris—just in time to seamlessly transition to the river cruise.

I’m thrilled to invite you to join me on this incredible adventure. Whether you’re interested in experiencing both the Globus tour and the Avalon Waterways cruise or opting for just one, I’m here to help you plan the perfect vacation. We can easily add a visit to Disneyland Paris for a couple of nights for an extra touch of magic. Disneyland Paris is a short train ride from the center of Paris, and would be the perfect beginning to this truly once-in-a-lifetime vacation adventure.
